Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the OgaLandlord platform, available as a mobile app and website. OgaLandlord is operated by OgaLandlord Digital Services Limited, a company registered in Nigeria with its registered office at 314 Ikorodu Road, Anthony, Lagos. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use OgaLandlord.

Who can use OgaLandlord

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, so keep your login credentials secure.

Accounts and roles

OgaLandlord serves three roles — landlord, tenant, and agent. The features available to you depend on your role. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes connected to renting, listing, or managing property.

Listings

• Landlords and agents are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including price, availability, and property condition.
• You must have the legal right to list any property you publish.
• We may remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or that violate these Terms.

Payments and fees

• Rent and related payments are processed securely through Paystack, including card payments and direct debit mandates.
• A service fee is charged to tenants on rent transactions, disclosed at checkout before payment.
• In line with Nigerian rental practice, payment is made before the rental agreement is signed.
• Caution fees, where applicable, are held by the platform and refunded on vacancy, subject to the terms of your agreement.
• Service fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Rental agreements

OgaLandlord facilitates the creation and signing of rental agreements between landlords and tenants. We provide the platform and tools, but the rental agreement is between the landlord and tenant. We are not a party to that agreement and are not a landlord, agent, or broker.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post false, fraudulent, or misleading information.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
• Attempt to bypass platform fees or transact off-platform to avoid them.
• Interfere with the platform's security or attempt unauthorised access.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

Our role and limitations

OgaLandlord is a marketplace connecting users. We verify listings where possible but do not guarantee the condition, legality, or suitability of any property, or the conduct of any user. You use the platform at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OgaLandlord is not liable for disputes between users or for losses arising from your use of the platform.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or the platform. You may stop using OgaLandlord at any time and request deletion of your account via our Account Deletion page.

Privacy

Your use of OgaLandlord is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
