OgaLandlord is operated by OgaLandlord Digital Services Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Nigeria with its registered office at 314 Ikorodu Road, Anthony, Lagos. We operate a property rental platform connecting landlords, tenants, and agents in Nigeria, available as a mobile app and website. For the purposes of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), OgaLandlord Digital Services Limited is the data controller responsible for your personal data. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).

Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, password, and your role (landlord, tenant, or agent).
- Identity and verification data — where required, NIN or BVN and bank account details, used solely to verify your identity and enable rent payments.
- Property information — listings, photos, descriptions, and pricing uploaded by landlords and agents.
- Communications — messages you exchange with other users through in-app chat, and any correspondence with our support team.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages and listings viewed, searches, and actions taken in the app.
- Device data — device type, operating system, and app version.
- Notification tokens — used to deliver push notifications about your rentals, bills, and messages.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To list, search, and book properties, and to facilitate viewings.
- To process rent payments, service fees, and refunds, and to generate rental agreements.
- To enable communication between landlords, tenants, and agents.
- To send transactional emails and push notifications relating to your activity.
- To prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Third-party services
We share limited data with trusted providers strictly to deliver the service:
- Paystack — payment processing, direct debit mandates, and payouts. Payment and bank details are handled under Paystack's own security and privacy terms.
- Firebase (Google) — powers in-app chat between users.
- OneSignal — delivers push notifications.
- ZeptoMail — sends transactional emails such as receipts and verification codes.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not allow these providers to use your data for their own marketing.
Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except records we are legally required to keep — such as transaction and tax records, and information needed to resolve disputes or enforce signed agreements. Retained records are held only for the period the law requires, then deleted.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update most details in the app, or contact us to exercise any of these rights. To delete your account, see our Account Deletion page.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
Children
OgaLandlord is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email, and the "last updated" date above will reflect the revision.
